If you’ve taken a step into your plant-based journey, chances are you have heard of Dr. T. Colin Campbell. Dr. Campbell is the author of the groundbreaking China Study and founder of the T. Colin Campbell Center For Nutrition Studies. He is also prominently featured in renowned documentaries like Forks Over Knives, which have swept the globe and helped many people take steps towards a plant-based lifestyle.
We here at Plant Based World are honored to be partnering with the Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies (CNS) for a series of giveaways and exciting new content.
CNS is thrilled to announce that today marks the opening of applications for their new micro-grant program. Applicants will enter to receive between $500-$5,000 in funding for new projects. The applications will be reviewed by an external team using a blind review process.
This micro-grant program is launching alongside the newest CNS certificate, which expands upon the Center’s traditional focus on human health to the area of sustainability. Connecting nutrition with the environment has always held an important place in Dr. Campbell’s heart, and he and his team are proud to unroll this new certificate that will assist others in becoming experts in this topic, and stewards of the planet in the process.
“It’s really critical that we start speaking more about our food systems, and the role that agribusiness – specifically animal production – has on our health and environment”, said LeAnne Campbell, PhD, daughter of Dr. T. Colin Campbell and President of the Center for Nutrition Studies. “Once you get into it there are so many angles to look at this from. It’s incredible how messed up the food system is… not only for our personal health, but for communal and ecological health as well. We rely on our ecosystem, so personal health be damned if we can’t take care of our environment!”
Luckily for us, the educational programming that CNS is providing for both human and environmental health is a supportive resource for anyone inspired to be on the front lines of transforming our food system.
To kick off this partnership, PBW is giving away ONE full scholarship to the Center For Nutrition Studies Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate in partnership with eCornell.
Winner will be selected and informed by Wednesday, November 25.
Stay tuned in the coming months for more giveaways and collaborations with our friends at the T. Colin Campbell Center!
